We live in Wellington and my dad is visiting from CT over the july 4th weekend. He's mildly active and game to walk but won't admit if he's getting tired. We figure that it's definitely too hot for the Palm Beach Zoo with him and our 2 little boys (4 1/2 and 20 months). Last year when he visited over Christmas, we went to City Place for dinner one time and went out to lunch a few times, but since my younger one was still an infant, we spent a lot of time at home and my dad watched TV on the couch until he fell asleep a lot. He naps a lot at home (and even work unfortunately lol!). He did jigsaw puzzles with my older one since he loves that. We watched movies at home too.

I felt bad because we didn't too tons but he seemed happy. I don't want to tax him but I do want to have more planned especially since my younger one is very active and loves being outside. Any suggestions for something the kids could enjoy but is centered more indoors so my dad doesn't bake?? He does like blues and bluegrass country music so I thought of trying to find a restaurant with live music like that. DH suggested BB King's but we've never been there. Thanks for any recommendations!

Frankly people in Florida go to malls a lot...they're air conditioned and you can walk around for as long as you want. Kids always like malls. Other than that, go out for nice dinners and maybe go to the beach in the late afternoon when it cools off a bit.

I dont think that people in Florida fo to malls alot or more so then any other state in the union, thats garbage, and why would a 83 year old want to walk around a mall just for AC? Perhaps if he was 15 years old, not 83... He likes blues music, get a babysitter one night and take Bamboo Room in Lake Worth for good music and on the 4th watch fireworks with your kids and dad..
