We just found out we are relocating for work to Boca Raton in about 30 days and need to find a place to live. Our family has only ever been there once for a few days so we are unfamiliar with the area, and with my map skills there's a good chance we'd end up in the middle of Miami instead :}

What residential areas/cities are within a 15-20 minute drive of Yamato & I95 in Boca Raton? Would prefer to stay off I95 if it's congested during rush? If it's not terribly congested no worries. We'll probably rent a temp place first but won't even be able to come see that before we move. Thanks for the expertise of those who know the area!!!

I live off yamato, about 5 miles west of 95. IMO 95 is pretty bad at rush hour. Are you looking to live in Boca? Do you have school age kids? Gated, country club? 15 minutes would get you do west Boca, Delray Beach, Deerfield Beach...

Thanks for the info! It's so nice to hear from someone local.

We do have 2 younger children but not in school so no concern for the time being there. We plan to rent for at least the next year or two. My hubby will be working right off Yamato and 95 so we want to live close. He's been commuting out of town (home some weekends) for over a year, we are ready to drive less and spend more time together as a family again. We want something well kept, clean, safe, quiet, not so busy-- doesn't matter to us if it's newer, older, gated, etc as long as it meets the other criteria. We'd prefer a private residence to apartments and need a fenced yard (or screened porch with a little grass since those seem to be common there) for our little dog and the kids.

Of course we also have our budget to consider; from looking online we can swing an average 3-4 bedroom. They seem to go for $1800 or less. We would definitely prefer to pay less because we have other goals to work towards and the less rent we pay the more left. So it's a balance of close, comfortable place for what we'll pay. We just aren't familiar enough with the area to know what that 15-20 minute search area includes. It's hard to look for a place to live when you don't know what city you're looking for :}

Join the club. Same here. We have been here for about 5 + weeks and will leave soon for work (out of state).

Have to say, Boca is really nice. Nice with and for our kids, nice people here, nice rentals, nice homes, GREAT restaurants and shopping. And it seems like the highways, 95 and Tpk are easy to get to. The road planning of Boca seems very well thought out. Good luck toyou!

West Boca might better for you in terms of price...You wont get a 4 bedroom here in Central Boca under 1800.00 a month...3 bedrooms and 2 baths possibly...With Excellent Credit landlords are asking 3 months up front....West Boca will be about 15-20 minutes to Yamato and 95...you can look at 33428 since you dont need schools right away this may be your best bet...
here are all the zip codes for Boca:
33496
33498
33487
33432
33431
33433
33434
33428

dont think I missed any

Good Luck
