Ive recently read on the PBC website that due to budget restrictions they will have to stop raking the seaweed on the beach, they will only pick up trash, plastic etc. They say it will benefit nature, as seaweed is a natural habitat for many animals, and a source of food etc.
Is seaweed a problem year long, or only in the summer? Can it negatively impact tourism? Does it get really smelly, or is it unappealing just visually? I must admit I love the white sandy beaches, as "unnatural" as they may look!
Just when I was thinking of moving to Palm Beach County!

Seaweed on the beach bothers me infinitely less than seaweed in the water!

It's not that bad, there is no offensive odor to worry about either. Actually garbage is worse than the seaweed itself. The only beach I have been to lately where I did not see any is Juno Beach.
