My husband and I have been renting in an amazing community in Delray Beach but are finally ready to take the plunge and purchase our first home. Although we love our current community (Tierra Verde) we are hoping to purchase a single-family, which does not exist here.

Before we begin with the realtor, I just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions? We are both in our late 20's and need to stay in Delray Beach as I work in Lake Worth and he in Boca- it's a great middle point for both of us.

Our "ideal" would be a single-family in a gated community, east of 95 (or close to it), pet-friendly and around $300,000. Having other young families in the community would be great.

We appreciate all suggestions, as always

Delray Lakes is really your only option if you want gated under 300k East of 95. There are a few communities West of 95 your realtor should know about as well.

West Delray has way more gated communities than east. Lots of 300k single-families out there. I would expand my options if I were you. If not, think about investing in a nice condo.
