Heading down to Jupiter with the wife December 1. Our plan is to check out the area, with the possibility of moving to the area later in the year. Does anyone here have any recommendations on some must see sights? We'd like to get a feel for what life would be like in Jupiter, so we don't necessarily need tourist traps, just some everyday cool spots to check out.

Thanks!

Head over to Guanabanas for dinner, walk over to the Square Grouper for a few drinks afterwards. Great view of the inlet and lighthouse. Take a drive down A1A, check out the beach (or what's left of it after Sandy).

Riverbend and DuBois are great parks, take a drive through Abacoa, check out the "downtown" area. A number of good places to eat along Indiantown. I like to have breakfast at the Lazy Loggerhead in Carlin Park, but there are other good mom and pop breakfast joints around town.

Plenty of things to do if you head south into Palm Beach Gardens (mall, restaurants, etc.). If you're looking for nightlife, head down to downtown West Palm (Clematis Street and CityPlace).

Have fun!

I haven''t been to Jupiter beach in a few weeks. What happened to it? Was it completely eroded by Sandy?

Hit Juno Beach (a little more south of Jupiter), and then go back up to Jupiter to Schooners for lunch. It's a little rustic, but the food is consistently very good, and very Floridian.

Thanks for the replies guys, we'll try to stop at most of the places recommended. Guanabanas for dinner on sat night, LL for breakfast sunday morning, and schooners for lunch on sun.

Are the beaches in bad condition right now?

Also, are there lots of public beaches? Or will I have trouble finding some? Any that are better than others?
