Safe location to move between Boca Raton and Ft. Lauderdale (Coral Springs: real estate, safe neighborhood)

Hello everyone,
Can you please help me. We are moving to Fl in a months and still can't decide on the location. Can you please advise on a good and safe neighborhood between Boca and Ft. Lauderdale. Have a child so schools and safety are very important. In addition, would like to stay closer to the beach (walking or short drive distance).
Any advise or suggestion is appreciated.

It's a sad way to live, but buy in a gated community. They'll be alot of privacy loss and nosey people, but you'll be safer inside rather than out.

Boca is the safest I am pretty sure; other than Pearl City. To be clear, Pearl City is the bad location in boca I can think of.

For schools AND safety, Boca Raton.

In Broward County I don't know about schools, but Victoria Park area in Ft. Lauderdale is a great neighborhood, as is Lighthouse Point.

Staying close to the beach and wanting good schools is a combination that doesn't happen in south Florida unless you go to private schools. You can always drive to the beach about 20 minutes if public school education wins out. In that case the most affordable areas with good schools is Coral Springs and Parkland. Parkland was rated #1 in the US for band for the real estate buck !!

But your question was between Boca and Ft. Lauderdale. The answer is NONE.(Well maybe Lighthouse Point)

Access to beaches can be a problem in some areas, even though the beach is supposedly public property. The beach at Ft. Lauderdale and the access at Boca are about the best. The reality is that because of days of sea lice, red tides, cold weather, lightning storms, etc., very few Floridians visit the beaches regularly. You might do better to find a place with a well maintained pool, and save the beach for getaways.

I have to be blunt about south Florida schools - they are terrible. The mix of cultures from the Caribbean, mix of languages, and lack of focus on education make the kids some of the worst educated I have ever seen. I used to have to review the hiring of teens for movie theatres in the area, and there were many who could not even complete the basic written job applications. Unless you plan on crippling your child for life, focus on finding a good school and forget the beach.
