Probably not since they tore that power plant down 2 years ago

They dumped cooling tower water into the intracoastal and the manatees were attracted to the warm water.....no plant means no hot water

Oh no!! I haven't been up there in about eight years. What about snorkeling on Peanut Island? Does Rybovich still do tours?

Can you get to the Trail easily? Thanks for all the info!

Snorkeling has a new spot on Peanut Island.....They spent 3mm building a lagoon on the SE corner and it has been a failure. At incoming high tide it is marginal, anytime else the water is very cloudy and the lagoon was supposed to attract fish but it didn't. They have a lifeguard but a few people have still drowned there (one a few weeks back). Water has gotten cold in the last month, my snorkeling would be over until next May!

Rybovich is more of a service yard now for mega yachts, not sure they are building new boats there at all.

Trail? Not sure what you are asking about.

Behind all the mega mansions on Palm Beach was a trail. I can't remember the name but it ran along Lake Worth and it was really a fun run. Does that ring a bell at all?

So the winter manatees are gone and they've screwed up the snorkeling. What about Thursday nights at Sailfish?

Did they add anything new and fun? Will be up in a couple of months for a weekend. We are staying on the boat and obviously will not have a car so ANY suggestions would be welcome.

I don't hang out in that area at night.....can't help with suggestions but they re-did the Ocean Mall 3-4 blocks east from Sailfish. There are a few new bars and restaurants on the beach.

The manatees are still there, you just have to wait for a cold front to bring them in. FPL was nice enough to install heaters at the site of the old plant for the manatees. Besides, they are building a new plant and when that becomes operational in the next couple of years all will be the same.

As far as snorkeling, the lagoon is a complete disaster. Complete waste of money in my opinion. However, if you stay outside the lagoon on an incoming tide, there is still some okay snorkeling. Just follow the rocks at the entrance to the lagoon either to the north or south and you will see some nice tropical fish. No coral or anything like that, but some decent fish for the intercoastal. The important thing is the incoming tide, it makes the water crystal clear. If you have a boat, try going up to the snorkeling site off the breakers hotel in the ocean. There are mooring balls there, so you don't mess up the reef with an anchor.

Not sure about Rybovich. The lake trail is still there and sailfish is still pretty decent on Thursday's, though I haven't been in over 6 months. Maybe try the tiki bar at riveria beach marina also. Good brunch there on Sunday mornings.

Not sure if you have been down since they finished the docks near downtown, but if you have a boat its a nice option. The docks are free to use and allow you to stroll along downtown. We take the boat on Saturday mornings up there and go to the green market. Just an idea. Hope this helps.

Great input! Thank you so much! I've never heard of the docks downtown? What are they near? We are staying at the Sailfish Marina on the boat.
