A better question: WHY would you commute from Wellington to Boca?

It's about 20-30 minutes, you just take the turnpike south which isn't much of a traffic issue. But are there any particular reasons for living in Wellington if you work in Boca? The public schools are actually a little better down that way.

Oh, my bad .

It really depends. I think Wellington schools are more consistent. Watch out for Palm Beach Central high and Polo Park middle, which I heard have gang issues, but they are all solid on the academics. Boca Raton goes to greater extremes- of both good and not as good in terms of the schools, although none of them are "bad". So truthfully, it's a tossup. Their both quite livable and have good schools. I say if you work in Wellington, live in Wellington. Work in Boca, live in Boca.

What if you work in Ft. Lauderdale? We have friends in Wellington, which makes it appealing, but Boca seems good too? Parkland, Weston, Cooper City, Plantation, Davie, Coral Springs? All seem to have gotten thumbs-up for school systems, but what would be the most desireable place for a family to settle, where the commute would be about an hour or less?

I would not advise commuting, but if it's your thing, Welly World is close to the Turnpike but not convenient to 95 at all. Gas prices are rising, buy a hybrid or a Nissan Leaf.
