Just wondering if anyone could tell me about Wellington's Edge. We're looking at a 3/2 house in that community. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated -thanks!

nothing wrong with that community. It is okay mix of single family and townhomes. The prices in there are less than average for wellington but for the money it is a decent community and no reason to avoid it

We are going to rent a house there for a year. Seems nice, but I couldn't find any information about it online which made me a little nervous. Thanks for your reply!

Wellingtons Edge past 7 months in a fully remodeled 3/2, relocated from Fairfield County Connecticut in Sept, so available rentals(below 2k) in town were quite thin, although v nice homes to buy were plentiful for very reasonable prices(270-320), in my estimation. Distressed properties even less(200-270). Rent was $1800, but, there were 5 of us vying for it and had only 3 days to find something, so we offered $1900 and got it. No probs at all w the community(very strict Board, criminal/background/credit checks abound!), clean & ample amenities, no crime to speak of, everyone(families/retirees) is very nice and it is stupid CLOSE to everything! Deep in Wellington is another 10-15 mins. Try to stay away from units bordering Forest Blvd because of traffic noise.

WOW - this is wild! We just relocated from Fairfield Co and moved into Wellington's Edge too!! We are renting a 3/2 and absolutely LOVE it here! It is so quiet and peaceful. This is the place that we really, really wanted. We looked a few other rentals in Wellington (there were quite a few homes in the 1800-2000/mo range) but this one had everything we were looking for. It was tough to get - we had to be very aggressive and act quickly, but we love it. The location is just INSANE - I cannot believe how close we are to EVERYTHING.

I agree that the HOA application process was very intensive. However enforcement of the rules is rather lax. My next door neighbor (who is very, very nice) has two huge dogs - one of them is a very large rottweiler (suppossedly NOT allowed). He cut out a 5ft section of chain-link fence behind the property so he can have direct access to the canal (so much for gated community). He lets the dogs out off-leash into the canal area. I have a 2 year old and we have nothing separating our backyards. I am very upset about the whole situation. I hate having a "port of entry" so to speak for wildlife and people to enter into the "gated" community 10 feet from my yard. I also am terrified of an unleashed rottweiler in such close proximity to my 2 year old. So far, I am the only one who cares. We've been in touch with the HOA, PBSO, and animal control and - quite frankly - nobody cares AT ALL. Any advice?

(Despite this, we are still THRILLED to be here. I am so glad that we made the move from the HORRIBLE NE to wonderful Wellington!)
