Where in town are the restaurants and shops for day to day needs? Are any of the aforementioned homes walking distance?

There are all the restaurants, supermarkets and shopping you will need in Jupiter. As far as walking to them - at least in Rialto - it would be a rather long walk down Island Way, which has no street lights for the 2 mile trek.

From what you have written, it seems that Rialto would be a good fit for you and your family. It has a sort of suburban feel yet you are minutes from restaurants, supermarkets etc. You are next to I-95 and the turnpike so it's very easy to get anywhere. It's very family friendly and the elementary school is excellent. There are wonderful amenities including a clubhouse, pool, water park, children's park, tennis courts, and a basketball courts.

Hi....we are in a similar position....moving from the northeast to Jupiter. From what I've learned...abacoa will give you better public school...we loved Valencia, but couldn't find a house....our timelines are a little tighter. Mallory Creek might be an option...I liked it but do thought it was a little sterile. We looked at a nice house in Rialto yesterday in the 800s..just came on the market, but are now torn between two other houses. (We are doing private school, so school district is a factor for us more for resale.). Feel free to stay in touch...we can learn from each other. Btw...50 degrees when I flew out on Thurs...80 when I landed.

Check out the gated communities within The Shores of Jupiter. These are older established neighborhoods with larger lots. More outdoor space than the homes in Abacoa. Names of these communities are North Ford, Cypress Cove, and Shorewood Estates. I moved down from the Northeast in 2004 with my husband and 7 year old twins. I raised the kids in The Shores of Jupiter, which is a wonderful family neighborhood. If it is a newer home you seek Rialto is near sold out but there are a few nice resales on the market in the $700s. Very family friendly neighborhood close to schools shopping and I95.
