In your opinion, what is the dating scene like for people over 30? Are there many single people in their 30's? Many people who seem to be looking to settle down?

Lol! South Florida is definitely not the place to be if you're seriously looking for someone who wants to settle down.

For those in their 30s, South FL near West Palm Beach and Boca Raton is generally a better choice than the smaller towns of Florida. The area is much larger with a broad, diverse group of ages and professions. The odds of meeting a 30-something working professional still single and looking to "settle down" are much better than some place like Tallahassee or Panama City.

But still, South FL is not perfect. It is expensive, and good schools can be hard to find for young children. A home in that area could be a very costly venture. In addition, there can be a culture gap. South FL is heavily Latin American with people who have roots traced to South America, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica, Central America, etc. This is especially true in Dade County. West Palm Beach is not as "Latin" but the presence is still there.

The traffic is also heavily congested. I knew people who commuted from West Palm Beach to Boca Raton or Fort Lauderdale, and it was stressful for them. The job market is very good though. So it is possible to find an apartment or home near a reasonably good paying job.

My opinion based on experience is that the best place for dating in that age group is the I-4 corridor where many yuppies live (Tampa to Orlando) with all the things to do in the area. West Palm Beach is not great but not bad either. The worse place for a 30-something person trying to date is Tallahassee or the nearby smaller towns: Bristol, Ebro, Panama City, Thomasville, Marianna, etc. The 30-something people trying to date in those areas are usually divorced with children.

I'd honestly recommend online dating. There are sites for those looking for casual stuff and if you're looking to start a family then look at eharmony.

Still holds true.

I would recommend South Florida all day long to a middle aged man looking to hook up with a 20 something who wants to help him max out his credit cards.
Plenty of young things looking for a guy to pay their way.

I'd never recommend it to a female over 26 years old looking to settle down.
(Unless you're in a position to play a sugar-mamma.)
