I purchased a vehicle from CarMax in Ft Lauderdale that they said was not in an accident and showed me a CarFax report. I took the car back to them within 30 days to complain about the accident, the non-matching paint, the doors that were out of alignment, etc. due to the accident. They repaired the doors but they never had a manager call me about the accident so that I could either give them the car back or have the car further inspected. Well a year goes buy and the car begins to rust on the hood and the paint blisters where the car had been damaged by the accident. I have $1900.00 in the repairs so far and the remainder of the car needs to be painted to match completely. They refuse to help me at Car Max. So I will let the court decide but I will never go back to them to buy a car. Beware!

Carfax and other services like that are not 100% reliable. It can take up to 200 days for Carfax to list an accident.

Not CarMax's fault you let it slide.

Last I knew it was illegal to sell a wrecked car without disclosing it. Mistakes happen but CarMax should be above that. If they got the car from out of state and the seller did some 'Title washing' if could have slipped through. You can notify the state's consumer protection agency and report it. If no resolve it goes to court, surprised a reputable dealer wouldn't avoid this and make things right.Good luck...

absolutely not true......wrecked meaning fender bender or rolled over into a canal after it was on fire....both are wrecked, only one is salvage title.

I would not buy from Carmax, just go to a dealership, find the car you like, enter the information on Truecar and hand the price to the dealership with a take it or leave it offer if you hate bargaining.

I sold one of my cars to carmax and there were some issues with it, they spent 1 minute driving it in the parking lot and offered me the price, never even realized the issues with it.
