Where is the job market better in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or Boca Raton?

Particularly for a young professional who does not speak spa ish.

Do companies to miami pay better than broward?

I'm actually looking for a new career as I'll be graduating this fall and so far I have been finding a lot of job opportunities in Broward and Miami. Id say Broward is better as you do not need to know Spanish for most jobs in that county.

Of course it depends on your field, but I would say that right now Ft. Lauderdale seems to be growing a lot regarding jobs and most do not require Spanish speakers.

I get occasional recruitment emails for myself or for referrals of others and a lot of the jobs are in Ft. Lauderdale.

Boca also has a healthy economy and job market without language requirements, but Ft. Lauderdale is a larger city.

No, Miami jobs do not necessarily pay any better and the COL is pretty high there.

Fort Lauderdale has a lot going on. Boca has some, but not like Broward. However, the trade off is traffic. Your commute should be considered.

Salaries in South Florida in general are too low to afford the high cost of living, unless you work in one of the small handfuls of professions that pay well and flourishes there.

As well, opportunity in general is quite dismal for many career paths.

South Florida and Florida in general does not have an abundant amount of Corporate 500 headquarters/corporate type work. What it does have is almost all branch offices. Many small, some mid size, a lot focused on latin america but certainly fewer opportunities than a New York, Boston, LA, Atlanta where corporate headquarters are clustered.

South Florida is dominated by the service sector - tourism, construction, real estate, retail, commercial banking and lending, medical, law. Services. Services. Services.

Unless you have a highly sought after skills and services to offer, salaries will be lower than other parts of the country and cost of living will be high. It's called the sunshine tax.

If we are taking job opportunity, yes. I could make more if I chose to find a job in Fort Lauderdale, but the commute costs and time spent commuting, would offset any financial gain, by working down south.

However, if you live in Broward, it might be worth it.

When working in Florida you'll see that you're either in the have category or the have not.

Pick a few areas, base your search on work and where you can find it and then compare the salary with the cost of living. Watch the areas you are looking to live in carefully.

Depending on what you do, you may be surprised at how little or how much you make. There are relatively few good paying professions here unless you have a trade and do your own business.

Florida, in general, is a low wage and low skill state. Those try are not the same thing nor are they correlated necessarily.
