I read in the Palm Beach Post today that Brightline will begin limited service. I've yet to see any of the promised quiet zones going up in either Delray or Boynton. This is going to be even more of a nightmare if this doesn't happen. Does anybody know if they are still in the plan? Thx!

Yes. It has been delayed. Last I heard it will start in January.

Klaucka will probably know what I’m talking about here.

I used to go home from work up Federal via Lake Ida Rd/NE 4 St.

No more! Never fails that someone in the right lane (right turn only lane) cuts over into the left lane after just going over or approaching the Brightline tracks.

Tonight I almost got sideswiped. It was like I wasn’t even there.

More importantly, I worry that someone will get stuck on the tracks with nowhere to go.Sometimes it’s bumper to bumper there due to people tailgating or cutting in. and you can’t always predict when someone is going to cut in. Then what are you supposed to do?

I have seen it happen but luckily there was no train.

Jeez people, if you make a mistake go around the block or something. It’s lije you think you have some divine right to cut in and possibly cause a bad accident. Think of other people .

(I’ll have to make a thread for my Boys Market/Post Office rant. Grrrrrrrrr)

OMG Byebye! I know exactly what you are talking about. Seriously, just the other day I was considering what would be my escape plan should exactly what you’ve described occur. I’ve decided that the moment I realize I am stuck and hear the chimes, immediately abandon the vehicle. Don’t even take the few extra seconds to see if there is a way tc drive out of it. Those few extra seconds, without sounding dramatic, could save your life. I’m also riding my bike to Publix and CVS more frequently these days, that way I can ride over to sidewalk. It’s just a matter of time before we have another death with exactly this scenario. And THE NOISE, now Delray is talking about no quiet zones. That will mean the FOR SALE sign for me, as rhey are running the freight trains even more frequently at night and really laying on the horn.
