A fourth person has died in Florida after being struck by a new high-speed train.

Boynton Beach police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said in an email that the train struck 51-year-old bicyclist Jeffrey D. King on Wednesday as he pedaled around the gates, which were down, in an attempt to beat the oncoming train.

In the last two cases the people just decided to ignore the flashing lights, the guard rails, the whistles and bells.

The train, therefore, did not kill them. The train did not deviate from the track. They killed themselves.

I hate these idiots who ignore warnings and try to beat trains. Death doesnt bother them! A public education program might help. Maybe higher fines. I know that in the Chicago area, with 700 trains running through everyday, not nearly as many are killed in a similar period. People have learned to respect trains.

Yep, The new Brightline train runs from West Palm Beach nonstop to Ft Lauderdale. The Local commuter train called Tri Rail slows and stops about 18 times from West Palm Beach to Miami. Those who are used to breaking the law and passing the Red Flashing lights for the Tri Rail will learn a hard lesson if it's the Brightline express train, both trains use the same crossings.... I was sitting at a crossing in Boca Friday when the signal lights activated,I had stopped at the stop line and the Brightline came thru. Those who don't stop at the stop line and crowd the tracks will get the thrill of their lives when the Brightline passes by...
