I recently posted a question about better place to live for my family? Boca or Jupiter. Thanks for the responses by the way. In reading other related posts, it seems there is a sigma about living in West Boca? I’ve seen several houses that easily meet all our needs, $100 even $200 thousand under our budget. But I’ve read that West Boca is not the place to be. Crime, traffic, schools? What’s the story? Is Central or East Boca that much more desirable? Any info would be appreciated.

We looked in Boca and hated the maniac drivers, crowds and general totally built up feel to the area. Beach not all that accessible. We liked the Delray Beach historical area. The western areas of Boca, Boynton, Delray etc are further from the ocean and closer to the mosquito infested Everglades. Jupiter is much farther north and a totally different area. Maybe you can hang out with Tiger, Celine or Michael Jordan.

West Boca is a nice, family friendly environment while located fairly close to everything. East Boca will be closer to the action; ocean, better restaurants and shopping. West Boca will have more of your chain brick and mortars stores/restaurants. You're also close to 441 and the Turnpike. You'll be able to get more house for your money here. My wife and I heavily considered Mission Bay and Boca Falls (both West Boca) but ended up in Wellington as we were able to get a much nicer house for our budget. If we were able to get a comparable house to what we purchased in Wellington, 5/3 w/ pool/lake in either, we would have purchased in Boca instead.

We are in East Boca and love it. Beach and parks are very accessible. Could have bought a bigger house in West Boca, or outside Boca Raton, but we like spending our time doing things outdoors, and being close to the water was important. The schools are also very good which was a major factor for us.
