Can anyone give me any info on the Highland Beach area?

We are a late 50’s couple looking to relocate in the near future.
Have narrowed down to Delray, Boca area, possibly WPB.

Looking for a 2-3 BR Condo, pref intercoastal or ocean view.

Other than that pretty flexible.

Highland Beach keeps coming up on my searches.

Thanks for any info!

Highland beach is great, small town wedged on the island between Boca and Delray. They have their own town police, city services but it has no commercial ventures in town. Want a cup of coffee, you need to go over the bridge to Delray. Want a grocery store, over the bridge. Atlantic Ave in Delray is very trendy, Linton Blvd is more car dealers/fast food oriented.

To me, its too much traffic/condos full of snowbirds. I'd rent something for a season before you commit to any purchases.

Agree with CityGuy. For what you want, Boca or Delray would be a better fit imo. Downtown WPB offers some choices but will have a more youthful vibe.

Between Delray and Boca, which would you suggest?
Looking for a 2-3 Br condo hopefully within a short distance to
both the beach area and a walkable downtown area?

Delray has more of a walkable downtown area on Atlantic Ave. Check both out and see which you prefer.

^^This. The answer I gave in your previous thread is still probably your best bet.

That part of Delray is more a tourist trap than anything.

We personally don't go on Atlantic too often because I agree, it's somewhat of a ripoff/touristy. To each their own, some people find value in it.
