My husband and I are considering a possible job transfer to three different locations, Columbia, Savannah, and West Palm Beach, FL. In person learning in public school is a high priority. Where we live now, schools have been remote and we have had to enroll in private school since we both work. Our preference is to have the kids in public school as our experience is that there are far more opportunities in electives and sports at the middle and high school levels. Can you tell me if the public schools in the area are in person? What has been their operating policy during COVID? Thanks in advance!

Over the three cities you picked, I would for sure go with Columbia South Carolina. I would never put a kid in South Florida public schools. It's just too much.

It depends on the district. Some are great, some not so great - like anywhere.

In Palm Beach County, there are a lot of good public school systems. Most of them are out west. I would consider Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington.

Parkland also has great schools (Broward county)but it's quite expensive.

I would say no to the Delray and Boynton public schools, but I would add Jupiter to the list.
