Neighborhoods with young kids (Boca Raton, Coconut Creek: houses, elementary schools, clubhouse)

Hi - my husband and i have two young kids age 4 and 2 and are moving to PBG/Jupiter area - want to find a community with young families. Any recommendations other than Abacoa, Alton, Rialto? Any thoughts on San Michele - seems like great location but have heard its not great if you have little kids - anybody familiar with that neighborhood?

San Michele has no kids now, 15 years ago it had a decent amount. That place is stuck in a rut of miserable resale and now that the houses are older, they need major updates and roofs. If you bought new and sold in 05-06 you made a few bucks but rarely does anyone do anything but break even in there. The owners don't want to update because they know they won't get their money back!

The guy that made 150K, he did a total remodel/new roof and netted nothing in profit.

This was the house next door (I had met the guy a few times). He did a sizable addition/updated a lot of things and got $0 back (supposedly spent 200K on the addition alone) but got 45K in appreciation in 13 years?!?!?

I know a seller in Alton that is under contract to make 1mm in less than a year.............now that is shocking! He literally put his clothes in the closets and lived in the house for a few months. ZERO updates/changes.

The Treasure Coast area that you referring to is not really kid friendly in general. The average age of people living in most of those areas is 60+. Its all old wealthy people up that way along with all the other towns like Port St Lucie, Vero, etc.

It really depends on where you need to be, but Boca Raton in Palm Beach and Coconut Creek in Broward are better picks.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter are a very kid friendly areas. There are 9 crowded public elementary schools (and numerous private schools) in the two cities and extremely active youth sports programs. Many people that live around here think it's one of the best places to raise kids in Florida (and I agree).

To the original post, hard to give recommendations without knowing what price point you are looking at and how big of a house. Evergreene in Palm Beach Gardens is a decent option that has a fair amount of kids and a nice pool/clubhouse area.
