I am a parent of a student who was zoned for Park Vista HS that the School Board rezoned to Boynton Beach HS who opted out to Olympic Heights HS who is now having a problem with the bus transportation!!! Does it ever end????

So, I have a list of at least 11 kids thus far who live in Sun Valley and Country Fair (just east of Jog) and Alden Ridge (just west of Jog) on Boynton Beach Blvd and the bus stop is too far away and across Boynton Beach Blvd at 6:10AM.... PLUS in front of a complex that has 3 sexual offenders living there...

Is there anyway to fight this stop? Change it? Anything? I have left messages for the Director of Transportation and the Principal of Olympic... Is there anything else we can do to get a stop possibly on Boynton & Jog???

Please help.... First I had to fight the School Board for 2 years (then we lost) and now this....

Thnx...

I had something very similar happen when my kids were in middle school. At that time, I found out that the school Board changed procedure and gave the principal of each school complete control of each childs district/transportation etc. I personally would start with the principal of the school, file the grievance in writing and involve all of the parents possible. File the same written grievance with transporation, and the superintendant as well. Wait one week, if no response, or if you receive the response you don't like, CALL THE NEWS STATIONS, write a letter to the editor of PB Post etc, and supply them with all documentation written and verbal from you and them. Make sure you are well mannered. You will at least start the process. Good Luck. I will also talk to my niece and her husband. They are both in the school system (teacher and psycologist) and maybe they will have some more suggestions.

Thanks bookkeeper, I almost did exactly what you said...

I wrote a list with each students name, what development they live in, whether they were a no child left behind or academy student, and along with the location of where we wanted a bus stop added, and handed it to the Principal at Open House this past Thursday night...

And, guess what? It worked!!! Sunday afternoon I got a call telling us that they added a stop for us

And, yes, the bus showed up at the new bus stop this morning (although it was an hour late), but it was there!!! So, all 11 kids (and some Moms) were there and thrilled...

And verbally I mentioned to the Principal that I would not hesitate to take it to the TV Station or Newspaper... So maybe thats what did it...
