I live in Port St. Lucie, but my kids go to school in Palm Beach County because I'm a district employee. After looking at the schools, I felt the schools in the northern part of PBC were better as a whole. SLC is way overcrowded and starts insanely early. MC, in my estimation, has programs like South Fork's IB program that are real good, but overall are thriving because they have less social issues and the curriculum is not very rigorous, catering mostly to just FCAT stuff. PBC is very big, but that provides a lot of options and I think they give the best combination of good education with meaningful classes past FCAT.

Be cautious with school grades. The grade letter of the school could mean virtually nothing, and even be a detriment, to your kid's education in ways you wouldn't expect. Some of the A schools hold their status by watering down curriculum and creating poor standards. Some of the C schools have pockets of kids from rough neighborhoods that will hardly ever be in class with your kids. Kids in the intensive classes are more prevalent in some schools, which weighs the school grade down, but might not ever impact your kids. Find out what courses your kids would be in and then look at the schools.
