I was just watching a COPS episode where a van full of mulatto Spanish speakers drove from Miami to Palm Beach County (don't know what part of PB County) and drove around residential neighborhoods stealing construction equipment. They were caught and arrested. They couldn't comprehend the arrest orders by the cop (walk backwards, hands above your head, etc.) because they couldn't speak a word of English. The sheriff's deputy said that it was common for criminals from Miami to come up to PBC and steal construction equipment at night. What say you guys?

Yes, a lot of Palm Beach and Broward criminal activity comes in from Miami-Dade. I think the man who killed the woman and her daughter at the Boca mall is/was supposedly from "Down South," and Lord knows half of our "Spanish speaking" criminals originally entered the country in Miami.

But, PBC also has a couple of "staging areas" itself, such as Riviera Beach. There was also a note on the news about youngish kids (late teens) from Western Lake Worth area forming a "house burglarizing ring" in that area which were subsequently caught.

That was a very old episode.(mid 90's). PBC has made its own criminal culture. Most young males(under 25) have a gangster mentality. everyone has a pride problem here, and you could find yourself shot for giving someone a dirty look. stand at a gas station in lake worth, riviera, west palm, lantana, boynton delray, belle glade, or greenacres for a half an hour and i bet you see more thugs than normal people around.

Most of PBC and Broward is still composed of old, white retirees. Do these young people feel pressured into criminal behavior because of the sheer number of old people that drive them crazy??? A switch from 80's COPS to early 2000's COPS episodes shows a dramatic shift from mostly harmless, drunken hillbilly crimes to serious, gang, gun, and "I'll kill you" crimes in the 2000's committed mostly by minorities.

^^^Very true. But at the same time back in the early 90's PBC was still averaging the same number of homicides as it is now. It just didnt come to peoples attention til now. Most people were in denial of the crime because of all the welthy people living there, and because of all the retirees. Granted, homicide rates did drop in the early 2000's. But they're starting to rise again.

I live on the West Coast and saw a van coming from Miami robbing abandoned houses out here! Unfortunetely people move up the coast from Miami and bring their problems with them.
