Hello! I recently moved here from Springfield, Missouri. I'm in my early twenties so I tend to go out late. Except... I don't know where anything is!

In Springfield we had a 24 hour coffee shop, is there any place that's open late? I'm not a party-er, so no clubs, bars or smoking lounges, please.

Any information would be very helpful and appeciated!

Good question...I've lived here most of my life and I can't recall any late night places that don't involve drinking. Denny's maybe?

I'll ask around. Genuinely curious myself...

Thanks, keep me posted♥ I just want a place to hang out at odd hours of the night. Bars are normally out because of the smoking.. Or the stupid.

I believe there are some 24-hour Dunkin' Donuts around as well as maybe a Denny's. I don't know of any hip places like Seattle style coffee houses or anything decent to do though. Sadly most people just hit the same old bars and drink their faces off. That seems to be the big late night activity around here. You have to be very careful about being out late anywhere around here though. It can be very dangerous.

Palm Beach County is a pretty big place.... Howley's Diner in West Palm Beach is a good spot to go though. It is not 24/7 but it IS open very very late (4AM on weekends, I think). It's a retro diner that attracts a pretty eclectic clientele.

I also think the walk-up window at the Havana Cuban cafe is open 24/7.

Any names in specific on those pizza places?

I did some research and I think the Cuban place you're reffering to is called Havana's?

I suppose chains are better than nothing. I just prefer those personal businesses with their own touch to things, you know?

And I understand about being careful. My stepfather's an officer in Broward. I've been reading the other topics, the number one thing I've seen is how dangerous or how high the crime rate is. Thank you for the concern.

Thank you very much. I will definitely check it out.

The Cuban place is Havana, on the corner of Forest Hill and Dixie Hwy. Howley's is excellent and funky, but a little pricey.

There's a newish coffeehouse in downtown Lake Worth that I think is open pretty late on the weekends. I've never been in, but it's run by a very out lesbian and is very, very new age. I'll check on the hours and post back.

As far as bars go, there are probably a few outdoor bars where the smoking isn't as much of an issue, although stupid is always a concern. ER Bradley's might be worth a visit, as they have a big space, and you could possibly find a quiet-ish spot away from the smokers and jokers.

Best of luck, and keep us posted...I'm interested in knowing some spots myself.

Paul

I went to Howley's last night with a friend, actually. However, we didn't bring a map and all we had was the name and street name. We stop manymanymany Chevron gas stations asking for directions. We even asked an officer and he gave us really bad directions that we ended up in Delray. It was very amusing and certainly adventurous! I like Delray's Downtown more than the Palm Beach's. The stores were unique and didn't consist of purely chains (how many Starbucks does one need..?) However, only bars/clubs/smokers were open for business in Delray after 11pm.

I liked Howley's. I loved the look of it. They had an old projector rigged up with older cinema which I thought was 'very cool.' It was very clean and the decor has great little touches if you pay attention to detail. Officers frequently came in for food and drink. I felt safe, content and welcomed. Our waitress joked with me and my friend and didn't pester us. I agree they're pricey in some areas but it isn't too bad. I ordered a hot chocolate that tasted like hot oldschool Hershey's chocolate syrup and 1% milk, I didn't favorite it much. I stole my friend's pickles but they were still in the cucumber stage from lack of vinegar, which also means lack of flavor. I don't know, things like that stick out to me. I also klepto-ed some of my friend's burger and it was amazing. It didn't taste processed or previously frozen, just good and very-very filling. As were the fries♥ I hope in the future they extend their hours into the week! I would think college kids would have a blast there.

If you pass me along the name, and general directions if you can, I'll definately check it out and report back.

The last bit made me laugh. True.

Havana's appears only be open at the walk-up window after hours? We drove by it. My friend wasn't too interested in it.

Havana's has only a walk-up window open late. It's not in the best of areas and attracts lots of questionable characters late at night. I would not recommend going there at night. Someone else mentioned E.R. Bradley's in WPB but that is nothing more than a bar and pick-up joint which you said you are not interested in. I don't think there is much to choose from in Palm Beach County that doesn't involve late night bars or strip joints. There is much more to choose from in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties like coffee houses and diners, etc. There are all night casinos like Hard Rock in Hollywood as well. If you really want all night activity besides bars then Las Vegas or NYC or California would be the place. Florida isn't as progressive.
