Does it matter in Florida if you have a pool in the backyard of a south facing home?

In the North you would not want the pool on the north side of the home.
But I figure in the Southern lattitudes the Sun angle differences are not as pronounced and you still will get a good deal of sun in the north facing backyard.

There are advantages and disadvantages. In the winter, the water in a north facing pool will get colder and cost more to heat up (or take longer into the season to warm up if there is no heater). However, in the summer a north facing pool will be better able to avoid getting so hot that a swim is not refreshing.

Ok thats a good way to look at it. The pool in our apt complex gets unbearably warm in the summer it is not refreshing at all.
There was not much swimming going on this winter anyway.

Thank you
