Hello together,

me and 2 other students from germany will study in WPB at Northwood University from August this year until May 2011.

We're searching for an affordable 3 bedroom apartment, if possible not too far away from the university. Some which study there already said, that azalea/archstone village is a drug hole and we should absolutely not move there. They think, Portofino Lakes ist the one and only community to live in.

Portofino looks nice, but: A minumum of 1500$ per month is much money for 3 students. SO my question:

Do you have any recommendations for me and my friends?

Many thanks

Dan

We thought about max. 1200-1300$, if this is possible.
Azalea Village would perfectly match our criterias, but there seems to be so much crime and drug abuse that we can't really move there.
Do you think the rates on the communities' homepages are fixed or is it possible to negotiate?

It's a little further North, but theres a few places in the Gardens that would work. Still only a 10-15 minute drive to your school.
If your credit is above 600 theres a 3/2 in Fiore right now that you could probably get around 1350.
There aren't any available currently but Cityside in West Palm usually has units around 1400..
Prices change daily on the apartment complexes. Portofino or the one next to it are pretty nice as you mentioned but a little pricey for your situation.
