Looking for neighborhood recommendations in and around Delray. I have a employment opportunity in Delray Beach. Located just one mile west of Atlantic Avenue. It would be a 20k bump in pay from my current position in Orlando.

I am bit on the fence as my family and I are fairly happy in Orlando. I know areas of Delray have high crime and public schools are not rated very well. If I were to pursue this opportunity would I just be better off living in Palm Beach Gardens and commuting the 30 miles in I95? I am much more familiar with PBG/Jupiter. I know those areas will offer more of a family atmosphere/higher rated public schools.

Really have no interest in Lake Worth or Boyton. Do not want to live south of Delray so no interest in Boca.

For the locals, thoughts? Am I way off or are there good family areas in Delray?

West Lake Worth, Boynton have good schools and nicer newer homes and are more affordable than pbg /Jupiter so not sure why you'd rule them out.
Delray has some nice neighborhoods out west depending on what price range you are looking in.

Need price range. Atlantic Ave runs east-west so you are either north or south of there. Also need to know how “ picky” you are lol.

400k for a 2/2 or 3/2 townhouse of SFH. Would also consider renting before buying. Wouldn't want to go above 1800 on rent.

Not necessarily picky. Just want to be in a family oriented area with low crime/good schools. That's why I am considering just commuting from PBG/south Jupiter as I know that area will check off that box.
