Hi,

We are moving from California (bay area) to Florida and are considering the Palm Beach Gardens area.

We'd like something that is safe, close to shopping and where we can rent a townhouse / single family home with a back yard for our kids.

We've seen rentals in the following areas:

Evergreene
Montecito
Ibis

Does anyone have any recommendations for a gated / safe community close to / within the PBG area that is largish (3 or more bedrooms) with a garden / yard for kids to play in?

Thanks.

Ibis is kinda far out West.

Montecito, as far as I know, is a condo building in downtown West Palm Beach. Nice, but not a townhouse!

Evergreene is a nice area. I would say go for Evergreene. You'll love its proximity to everything: beach, shopping, dining, highway!

You may also check out townhomes in Abacoa in Jupiter (which is literally across the street from Evergreene)

Thanks TriMT7. Ibis did seem a little far out when we checked it on the map.

Are these communities in a good safe neighborhood? I've heard (and read) that downtown WPB isn't great or safe, however downtown PBG is supposed to be really nice.

Default Ibis

We have a home in Ibis and it is not far from anything. We drive 15min to the finest shopping and beaches. It is a perfect and safe place to live. Many owners rent out their houses, you just need to find them. We rent ours for a reasonable price. It's safe for the kids too.

Gables Montecito is in Palm Beach Gardens. It is a mixed use developement with apartment rentals, some townhome rentals and single family homes. It is a beautiful community. It is gated only at night with a security guard. My daughter lives there and loves it. It's close to shopping and dining.

We moved from the SF Bay Area about 6 yrs ago and settled in Jupiter. Definitely check out Jupiter (especially Abacoa, Botanica, Paseos and Canterbury) and Tequesta Country Club. TCC is across the river from Jupiter but is a hidden jem as a lot of families with kids found out over the last 5 years. Palm Beach Gardens is great. Evergreene is nice to rent in. Jupiter, Tequesta, Palm Beach Gardens are very safe, gated or non-gated. But with kids, definitely pick something where you can have instant play dates. Huge difference between seasonal resident and year-around communities around here.
