I saw that there was a 2008 thread on this topic. My babysitter's car completely broke down and it's just sitting in a lot in WPB. She's new to the area and virtually stranded and at a loss for what to do. I don't think she has any friends here, and texted me that she moved into a hotel! I couldn't get any more details on that since for some reason, she won't call me (only text). Anyway, I want to find a good mechanic for her - she tried one place and it's super expensive. Granted, her engine melted down so it's not going to be cheap, but I'm just looking for alternatives for her. We offered her the use of DH's car since he's going to be away next week anyway, but she hasn't responded on that.

Any info is much appreciated!!

Dont really have any experiene in WPB, but she will need a tow company for sure so you want to make it close since towing can cost a lot of $$.. I base opinions on people, and AAA.. So do a search on AAA and call them up and see.. Any idea on what else besides " Engine melted down"? Was it overheating? leaking fluid or oil?

AAA Home

Hope someone else can chime in

When I lived over there and my cars were out of warranty, I would use GT Auto. He is located off of Forest Hill Blvd - close to Lake Clarke Shores I think. But he did a great job on my cars and was reasonable, never ripped me off.

I'm not sure about WPB but my mechanic in Lake Worth is excellent. It's a little hole in the wall shop but since he mainly works alone his prices are very reasonable. Willie's Auto Repair (561) 533-6611 528 S East Coast St Lake Worth, FL 33460. I'm a younger female & he has always quoted me hundreds less than other shops so he isn't the typical mechanic trying to rob you. Good Luck
