Moving this June to the WPB area - in my preliminary research, most rentals don't take dogs over 30lbs. We'd like to move to the Jupiter area due to (what my research has eluded to) less crime and better schools (I have one elementary age).

Since we won't get rid of our beloved golden retriever, should we consider other areas? Crime and schools is my utmost concern.

If the rental says "no pets" is that something negotiable if the right tenant comes along or are these strict HOA rules?

TIA

If your renting in a HOA community or even buying, they almost always have breed restrictions, weight never seems to be an issue. Typically it's aggressive breeds that are restricted but truly there seems to be ways around it as I have seen people with dogs in my community that are considered aggressive.

Also landlords themselves can say yay or nay to pets, not just Dogs in general. I would suggest you keep looking for places that accept pets and keep in mind the rental market here is extremely tight right now and places go very quick, specially if they are priced right and in a nice area.

As far as the area you want to live, safe with good schools. It depends on a lot, where are you going to be working? Do you like commuting? What do you desire besides good schools and etc? Have you ever been here before?

Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens are good places, I would also suggest Wellington which is 20 miles south of Palm Beach Gardens.

That is not necessarily true
There are many rental that will take dogs but usually u will need to pay a non refundable deposit.
My family w( three young girls) I live Evergrene and rent w a dog almost everyone here has at least one.
The schools are awesome ,close to the beach and very outdoorsy ie families biking, walking and hanging around the community club which is great. You will pay more for a rental here but the lifestyle is great.
I have lived throughout PBC and have to say at least check it out

Goldens are goofy, non-aggressive dogs. You shouldn't have a problem. Big dogs do beat up a house more, though, so as the other poster says expect to pay a fee for it.
