Ok, this question is probably coming a bit late....about 25 or so years late, but to my credit there was no innernets back then.....

When I first moved to the North Palm Beach area, about 1984 or '85, the local chevy dealer ( I believe it was Bruce King, later on was schumacher and now the dealership is empty) on Northlake Blvd. that used to state in their advertisements that they were "located on World Famous Northlake Blvd.".

Having never heard of this "World Famous Northlake Blvd." before, (but not suprising....as I had lived previously in a small city in southwestern Kansas, news takes a while to get there) I often wondered if it was famous for something....anything, or was this just a sales pitch by the dealer (Car dealer would make up stories???? I'm sure that's never happened before).

I often thought of just calling the dealership and asking "why??", but never did.

So.... is it world famous and why?

sales pitch. Northlake blvd has nothing on it but businesses from US1 to I95, the business and residential from I95 to the beeline, then nothing but nothing and ibis club after that. Typical of most East west main roads in FL.

FYI the now defunct Chevy store was Ed Morse Chevrolet. He rescinded the franchise and it relocated to Schumacher's lot to be part of his Buick/GMC store.
