My son and I are planning a move to Jupter from CT in June/July so I can help care for my elderly mother (she lives in Juno Beach). My son is autistic and will have graduated, so schools are not a consideration. I don't know whether to purchase right away or rent first. I'm looking for 2 br and 2 bth, under 1400 sqft condo/apartment. If I buy, I will be paying cash and looking to spend in the range of 175 k or under so I don't know if I should considere short sale or foreclosures. I was looking at abacoa, but the HOA seem very high and I'd like to be closer to the beach for my son. Any suggestions on where to start? Thank you!

I don't have any suggestions on specific housing, but you will be in a great area. I'm assuming you know what areas NOT to be near, with your mother living there already. There seems to be plenty of housing options though.

We love Jupiter. Good luck.

If you are certain that you want to be in the Jupiter area buying isn't a bad idea, but it might be beneficial to rent for 6 mos to a year to get to know the area.
The Bluffs (just west of HWY 1 on Marcinski) has condos and townhomes that would fit your size and price range. Walking distance to the beach and the shopping center.

Thank you both, hat456 and skylinet. My folks have lived in the Jupiter/Juno Beach area for over 15 years and I have been down there many times and I am pretty familiar with the area, just not the housing situation in my price range. My Dad passed away from alzheimers a few months ago, hence my need to go down and support my mom. Actually my mom mentioned the Bluffs and said she heard that the property is well managed. Skylinet, I see you are in the real estate business...perhaps I can contact you as we get closer to the june/july timeframe?

Sure, just direct message me when you are ready.
The Bluffs seem to match your brief description and you can either get a two story townhome which is one of the quads (River) or the condos are just under 1400 sqft (marina).
There are other communities as well, just depends on what you are looking for.
