Skip the waterfront and buy in a great school district! Buy/rent a boat slip for your waterfront access. NPB is cheap for a reason.....old houses, on the fringe of Lake Park, Riviera Beach ghettos.

Thanks for your advice. I keep going back and forth from North Palm to Jupiter. Schools are my issue now. Im very confused. However, NPB seems to have some beautiful homes on the water. I just want my kids to have other kids to play with. I dont want to be stuck in a neighborhood without kids playing outside.

My wife and I just got back from looking at house's in the Jupiter area and what we found is that not all schools in Jupiter go to Jupiter Schools....some go to William Dwyer high school...which at best is a C rated high school...you can google school zoning in Palm Beach and they have a address locater where you can enter the address of the house you are interested in and they will list the schools your children will attend...

Our intention is to buy in the Jupiter area and if you like...perhaps we can exchange information as to what we have found...

That would be great. How old are your kids? When do you plan a moving and from where? PM me and I will let you know if I find any info. Hope we both find a great area with great schools!

Yes, be very careful the Jupiter zoning is very sketchy about where the boundaries are drawn. We missed a good high school by living one street too short of the boundary line. My high school daughter attends The Benjamin School due to boundaries I don't like. I have kids in three different schools!
Palm Beach County Schools have a magnet program where you can elect to attend a school outside of your zone. It's called the Choice Program. I have been through it all. My son goes to Jupiter High (as a magnet school- there are pros and cons to this school too- VERY overcrowded), my youngest is at Montessori which I would not trade for the world!
If you are needing any help, advice or questions answered I'd be glad to help. Don't skip out on the waterfront lifestyle if that's what you really want, don't think of just "parking your boat". We go paddle-boarding, kayaking, fishing from the back of our house and have a little manatee family that comes visit. There is nothing like jumping out back to go for an evening cruise to the lighthouse and back! There are other options outside of NPB for reasonable waterfront.
