Hello, we are a family with two very young (infant and a toddler) children and are looking at rentals in gated communities in north PBC. We were originally looking at Evergrene, but are finding the square footage on 3 bedroom homes very tiny for the 2500 range. We have seen a few much larger homes for the same price for rent in PGA National.

Question: can anybody tell us about PGA National? Is the population much much older? Will they be be annoyed with small children?

Any info about PGA National would be appreciated. Thanks!

Was in pga last week picking up some paperwork. There are a LOT of seniors. I had heard this when we were searching, but was not aware how populated until I visited myself.

There are Evergrene homes for rent for less than 2500. Not much less, but you might be able to negotiate. We searched and searched for more for same and came up with nothing. It's a beautiful, central area and doesn't come cheap I guess.

It's a pretty large 'area' of homes for rent. In a good location too. But I don't think there are really any kids at all.

PGA Nat'l has a lot of small homes/townhomes and is primarily older. I personally think it is a swampy, dated community with lots of wood frame homes ripe for mold/termite issues. Schools are not great for that area either.

Thanks so much for the responses, as that was extremely helpful. I think you guys just cleared up this one for us.

We are only looking at gated to rent for a year and want at least 2000 sq ft. Don't think it exists for $2500?

I want to add that we are not worried about schools as we would be moving in a year, two max and our kids would still be too young for kindergarden. Probably Evergrene is our best bet? Maybe we could negotiate on a home around 3k down to 2500? Does this seem unlikely?

Possible, although probably more difficult in winter months (? not sure).... Absolutely try. DM me for help and addresses for rent if you like. If you have great credit, small to zero pets and etc, I'll bet a landlord would love you.

Get something in Egret Landing. That's where my friends ended up.
Very friendly area with families.

Also note most of PGA Nat'l is NOT actually gated. Yes they have perimeter gates off the main entrances but they legally cannot stop you (or anyone else) from entering. It gives you the illusion of gated community but it is public roads and the public has the right to pass through. A few communities inside PGA are actually gated but only like 3 of the dozens of neighborhoods.
