Hello everyone, I have done some searching about the Palm Beach area, but have a few questions of my own. I will be working for Pratt & Whitney in June, and will be moving up from Miami. Me and my gf are in our mid 20's and I have read that Delray Beach has a nice nightlife for younger couples. She currently works near Dadeland Mall, it would be unrealistic for her to commute to DB everyday correct? Also, how bad is the traffic north of DB? Is a commute from Delray Beach to Palm Beach/Jupiter B-Line expressway realistic, or should I aim farther north? Thank you for any input and suggestions. Thank you.

Delray Beach to Pratt would be a pretty long commute. It would be at least 40-45 minutes since Pratt is far west off the Beeline. West Palm has good nightlife in Cityplace. I would suggest moving further north to WPB which would not be too bad of a commute to Pratt. Traffic on I-95 is very good north of Boca. So as long as you stay north of Boca, you should have no issues with traffic. Good luck.

Thank you for the reply. I saw on Google maps the commute would be about 45 minutes. As long as traffic isn't bad, I'm sure it's not too bad. Iwill look into west Palm beach as well. Any areas in west Palm to look into? Safe area for a young couple in their mid 20's? Thanks again

What's your budget? Will you be commuting 95 or the Turnpike?

We would like to keep our rent close to the $1000 range in order to save some money. Commuting would depend on which expressway is either closer to where I'm living or easiest drive to work. I'm not set on either. Would prefer a better area if it means 95 over turnpike, or vise-versa.

If you like nightlife, I would look for a condo in downtown WPB. You can find nice condo for rent for around 1000-1200.

Downtown where the condos are is essentially from Sapadilla Blvd (where Cityplace is) to the intercoastal. Yes, there are HOA fees for the condos but the owners have to pay those (you will just pay a flat rent). Check out this website to take a look at the buildings and the rentals available in each building.

Thank you for the information and link. Do you know if rent cost fluctuates with the time of the year and whether or not it is in or out of season?
