Anyone move from the Triangle area of NC to the Jupiter area?

Just looking for some feedback on the difference in lifestyle, people, atmosphere, etc...

The Triangle is a very "nice" place to live, but rather corporate. I am looking for a much more laid back lifestyle, with the beach close by. Where I am, people are pretty reserved, the restaurants are quiet, people hold back in general from random conversation and get togethers. Everything is pretty subdued. Missing my New York roots and the outbursts of laughs and emotion!

Thanks.

People in South Florida aren't friendly or extroverted, if that's what you're inquiring.

Anyone moved from the Triangle area of NC to South FL?

No.

In S FL, you'll get the beach but if you're looking for friendlier and more laid back, you're not gonna find it in S FL.

Contrary to what the naysayers say, you can live a laid back lifestyle in South Florida. Just don't buy into a gated community, and do your research before you move to find the right town/area.

People move into gated communities (the very definition of exclusionary preferences and distrust) and then wonder why people aren't overly friendly or keep to themselves. In this regard if you're stuck on Jupiter you will have to do your research carefully. If you're looking for the New York point of view, well you'll find it in spades.

Unlike other parts of the south, South Florida is "live and let live," which bothers those who want to be greeted when they move into a neighborhood with a pie and a "which church do you belong to?" discussion.

Must've missed that intro, never heard (or read) anyone mention that. In Asheville, I moved...3x... and never had anyone ask me where I went to church. I did have someone (from FL, moved in the yr before we did) bring us pie though.
