My friend said she heard that there are plans for revitalization of the downtown of Lake Worth? Has anyone heard that to be true? She said she would like to open a little business downtown and be in on the ground floor. The downtown has its' little charm, but most of the surrounding areas are not that good. Do you think there is potential to have a solid, profitable business in that environment?

The re- opening of the Gulfstream Hotel should help.

I think they need to have more large festivals (similar to what Mt Dora does) Some people in the city are so fixated on building a baseball stadium in John Prince Park that they ignore the other opportunities.

Delray did buyouts and eminent domain to build the new Atlantic High School and the tennis center etc. I wish LW or developers could come up with a way to buy out blocks of the bad areas instead of ruining a park.

Check out the Hudson Holdings website. Some of the folks who helped revitalize (in some cases too much) Delray have bought up property In LW, mainly some stuff on South Federal and also The Gulfstream. The thing about LW is that it's like the last frontier. Delray, Boca and WPB have been revamped. Boynton and Lantana have tiny downtowns. So in PBC there really is no other downtown left to revitalize. Yeah there's Riviera and Lake Park...
