Be prepared for insurance costs, depending on the size price of the home wind insurance can get expensive.
Most homes are in home owners associations fees can be anywhere from $100 or so a month and up.
Make sure you understand how much closing costs will be.

It depends. Have you already found something you want to purchase?

If you are ready to start looking for something to purchase in Jupiter then it depends on what your needs and wants are. Also your budget - what you can afford and qualify for. It's a good idea to get pre-approved for your mortgage before you start looking. What type of neighborhood you want to be in? Walkable and close to stores? Gated? Do you want to be close to the beach? Out in the Farms for more space and a rural environment. Townhouse? Condo? Single family detached home?

Insurance in South Florida is high no matter where you go. It is important to learn about what would help lower those costs, such as type of roof, window and door protection, tie downs, etc.
