I have a son who will be entering 8th grade and a daughter who will be turning 5 in November. We are moving it the Palm Beach County area at the end of July 2015. My son is gifted however, he has low executive functioning and he has been bullied in school. My daughter appears to be gifted as well and is learning Spanish, as a second language, at a super fast speed.

Here is my question: What area in Palm Beach County should we be focusing on? From all the research I have done, it appears Boca Raton might be the best but what schools?? I need Elementary (VPK?), Middle, and High schools. I need to buy house so I would love to be in the best school district as possible, to fit our family.

Thank you!

Central Boca has great schools with gifted program. Check out zip code 33496. I raised two kids here and couldn't be happier with the education they received. Best luck to you!

We have lived in East Boca for the last 25 years. We have a 5th grade daughter and chose to send her to a private school in Boca called Saint Andrews on Jog & Glades Rd. From what I understand everyone basically tests their child for gifted and now those classes have gotten quite large in the public school system.

I highly suggest you check out the PB County school district website and more importantly if your son has specials needs find out about a 504 plan- if he doesn't already have one. I am not sure if that is a term specific to the state of Florida or not. The 504 plan will give him "special accommodations".

We recently moved to Wellington and I have twins who are in kindergarten at Binks Forest Elementary. It is a wonderful school. Ranked 5th best elementary school in Florida. The gifted program is awesome too!! Wellington is a very family oriented community. We moved here specific for the schools!

I am thankful that my children are beyond their school years, as I hear horror stories of the public education system in Florida. I do agree with the previous posters, my coworkers have school aged children, Boca would be my choice for public schools. Wellington is a very nice area, but I have not had feedback on the schools.

For gifted programs, consider Banyan Creek (or Del Prado) -> Omni -> Spanish River (or Boca High). Spanish River and Boca High are both great schools with many kids admitted to Ivy League colleges and University of Florida.
