I'm heavily considering living in West Palm Beach someday, but I don't know if I can make it on my own there.

I want to be a physical therapist assistant, which according to Physical Therapy Assistant Salary in Florida (FL) , makes $47,577 in West Palm Beach. Is this enough for a single person to live off of, or should I move somewhere else (was also thinking about Lakeland), and wait to move there until I'm married with a double income home? (With no kids)

If I go there single, I definitely plan to rent and apartment, not buy a house. I wouldn't buy a home until I was married.

That's what... 2800- 2900/month take home?

You can do it. You wont live lavishly. A simple apartment in a safe part of town will cost about 1100-1200/month. Auto insurance about 150.

Where the hell are you going to live in WPB for 1200 a month? No place that I'd be.

It's just my wife and I. We are self employed and take home 80k a year, soon to be more with a new endeavor, and I still feel like I'm struggling to save money around here.

Reason I left the WPB area, it was getting too expensive and my Career path was a dead end, so we moved to the San Diego area and we pay nearly exactly what I would be paying for rent in WPB here albeit my income went up substantially where as in WPB my salary was flat and went backwards after several job losses.

Car insurance dropped over $2K/year, health insurance with my employer is 50% less out of pocket with better coverage. Even with personal income taxes and etc., I'm now able to pay off my debts and saving instead of going paycheck to paycheck.

WPB is a great place to live if you can land a good paying job that's stable or if you're rich and don't have to work.

Yep. We're all on drugs. Don't even know how anything gets done around here, with all the people walkinga round on drugs.

It's definitely a problem that only exists in Palm Beach County. And every place in Palm Beach County is exactly like every other place. From Riviera Beach to Boca. All the same. Rude drug users.
