I am about to purchase a dining room table and chairs and some living room furniture. The specific items I am looking for are a microfiber couch with several electrically powered reclining sections, an electrically powered reclining chair and a coffee table. I would also love one of those Dimplex media console fireplace units. I have been to Ethan Allen to look at their tables and I have been to Haverty's to look at the Dimplex items. I also haven not ruled out Ikea because I have had good experience with their bookcases.

If you know of a furniture store - no matter how big or small - that can accommodate some or all of these items AND has a great track record with sales and service, please respond here! I am in Boca Raton but I have no problem going to the surrounding areas and purchasing there.

If there are establishments I should avoid, please also advise. I am familiar with the area but not with the local furniture politics.

I would try Rooms to Go or El Dorado. They both have a really great selection of furniture and both have multiple locations in the area.

Thank you both for your suggestions! Is it true that Rooms to Go charges you an extra fee for furniture that is going into a different room in your house? It seems silly to charge double fees but I thought I read something about that at some point on this forum.

Rooms to Go is garbage.
(I've given them too many chances over the years. The furniture will initially seem "ok", but in just a few short years.. total gargage. Especially their couches.)

You are better off going to an estate sale or consignment shop and getting something that was made 20 years ago.

It'll be in better condition than the stuff stores sell today.

I am looking at the online reviews of Rooms To Go and I see some really angry and disappointed people posting their complaints yet when I looked at the BBB (Better Business Bureau) website, they gave this store an A+ rating. What's the story with that?

Companies pay money to the BBB to be a member. If companies don't get a good rating they will stop paying. Would you pay money to an organization that would give you less than a stellar rating. A few years ago some jokester paid and submitted his company name as Hamas (a palestinian terrorist org)and got an A+ rating. When this came out, there was a lot of embarrasment at the BBB.

Interesting about the BBB.
I want an electric fireplace so I called a major furniture store in Boca Raton to ask some technical questions. The saleslady was delightfully friendly and spent time explaining things to me. I have always carefully checked facts so I called the fireplace company in Canada and spoke to them directly. i called on a few different days because I know that some of their workers work on contract and answer their phones as a second job.
I learned that the information given to me by the Boca saleslady (and therefore the store itself) was 100% incorrect. This yielded a very important decision for me: my presently empty living space which could have been totally furnished by this estsblishment, will no longer benefit from my business. Silly store. Retailers should take more care in their training and prepare their people to correctly answer consumer questions.
