That is for "City of Boca Raton" residents. If you live out on 441 that will not apply to you.

Are you saying that 'west' Boca is not technically considered the City of Boca? That parking pass (and I believe it's $58), is that available to residents of Century Village (between 441 & the Turnpike)? I'm thinking of moving there next year, and intend on spending a fair amount of time at the beaches, like Red Reef, etc. Hoping the snorkeling is at some marginally interesting.

It isn't city limits out there. Go to PAPA palm beach (property appraiser site) and type in any address and then look at the municipality.

Century Village says:
Municipality UNINCORPORATED

If it was in the city limits it would say BOCA RATON instead.

city limits is a big deal when it comes to beach access, libraries, city golf courses/tennis courts and other city amenities/police services. It wouldn't be a complete deal breaker for me but many folks confuse the mailing address (well it says Boca it has to be in the city) with the city limits. Many builders wanted the Boca address so even if it is out west of 441 the address says Boca despite being 10 miles west of the actual city!

Another instant giveaway, the utilities. If you get a city of boca water bill then you live in the city.

Well, I just bothered to find out. Everything west of Jog/Powerline Rd is 'Greater Boca Beach and Parks District. Everything west of the Turnpike, which Century Village just is, is considered unincorporated PBC. So If you get an annual beach pass for $58, it is only valid at South Beach Park. Better than nothing, but sucks a little.

Thanks City Guy! I posted the above before refreshing the screen. As a resident of CV, there is no separate water bill I believe. It's included in (one of the) HOAs. I don't care much about 'other services'. CV's got tennis courts, many pools. But the beach pass really ticks me off. I think the northern reached of South Beach Parking lot stretches halfway to Red Reef, Like a .4 mile walk, I can do that easily.

And thanks for the link, should be useful. I am looking to move down there next summer. CV sounded really great and affordable. I like the peace and quiet, but I love my beach, and especially possibly the snorkeling at Red Reef. I'm a diver, as you might have guessed.
