I am a 30-ish professional (no kids) who wants to move out of Miami to either Ft. Lauderdale or Boca. I am originally from NYC and miss the people from up North. I'd like to live in a city in South Florida where there are lots of Northerners but not the trailer park trashy types. Any suggestions? Any particular neighborhoods?

There is probably the most northerners in Miami and it is the most progressive "northern" city.

Hi.
Depends what you're looking for. I'm originally from NJ/NY, so I can relate.
Boca Raton is mostly upscale, so not too much trailer park trash. Ft Lauderdale is mixed, depending on where. The night life is much more active in Ft Lauderdale, but if you're looking for better style family type neighborhoods, Boca is better.

Boca is a lot of older, retirees with $$....ya won't find trailer park. NY/NJ everywhere, you'll feel at home! Ft Lauderdale is a spread out and diverse city--some places are great---others I'd stay away from. Personally, I'd say Aventura if I was 30 and single.

Fort Lauderdale is probably more affordable than Boca but Boca has a lot to offer as well. There are other towns in between that might fit your needs. Good luck!

Never been but I've heard Boca Raton is more conservative. I'd go with pretty Fort Lauderdale.
