Some silly clothing questions about relocating from Chicago (live in, vacations)

I've lived in Chicago, or just north of DC my whole life. Never lived where there were only two seasons, warm and hot. When we lived in DC, I found that some of my winter coats I wore in Chicago were too warm.

I really don't like air conditioning, and prefer windows open, but accept that 5-6 months of the year we will live in AC. In northern summers, I still wear light long sleeves to work because the air conditioning is too cold. I suppose I will adjust.

However, I am wondering, is there a need for me to retain some of my long sleeves for random cool weather? Will I want some sweaters for the AC months?

Will I ever need a jacket?

If you also relocated from the north, and left family behind, did you save a box of winter cloths for the occasional visit north?

More like 10 months min of the year AC, for me year round

And yes you will want some sweaters. Actual winter coat, no not needed.

Unless you ski, dump the puffy jackets.

Don't forget to keep some clothes for visits north and/or vacations to more temperate climates than southern FL which is tropical.
