Hello! I am moving down to the PBC area as I’ve just gotten a job in Palm Beach Gardens. I’m an early 30s, single female who loves outdoor activities and a laid back lifestyle while also enjoying a little bit of nightlife. Where is the best place to settle that wouldn’t be far from my job?

Right now I love Jupiter for all it’s outdoor activities, but am not sure if there is a younger crowd as I’d like to meet people and have options to be social/nightlife.

West palm beach would have the social aspect but not sure on the rest.

Delray seems great but potentially too far for a commute.

Lake worth also seemed intriguing but has mixed reviews from what I’ve seen.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Delray has arguably the best nightlife in PBC, as does WPB. If you can’t find anything you like in WPB, then Delray to PBG isn’t too bad of a commute. One thing to remember, if it’s cheap, it’s cheap for a reason.

I agree with this. Delray would be number one for nightlife, but West Palm is a very close runner up. OP you didn't mention a budget as that would help with giving a recommendation.

Jupiter: Beautiful and affluent, good restaurants, and a great place if you own a boat or have access to one as they have a ton of boat ramps in the city.

Downsides: Expensive housing, very family oriented, a bit NIMBY, and kinda old and stuffy for an early 30s person looking for a little action.

West Palm Beach: Has a true downtown(Rosemary Square & Clematis area) so you will run into young professionals, brightline access (this potentially opens up all of South Florida and eventually Central Florida), The 500 block is awesome if you like the hipster, "counter culture" vibe, Clematis is walkable and has a decent resturant scene.

Downsides: nightlife can be hit or miss depending on the night, easy to run into "sketchy" characters. Housing in the downtown area can be expensive.

Delray Beach: Great nightlife and probably the best restaurant scene in South Florida aside from Miami. You will get a young and attractive crowd here in the Pineapple Grove area due to FAU and the city's reputation.

Downsides: Expensive rental market, Delray(technically a village) literally only consists of one long street (Atlantic Ave), difficult parking, and can be somewhat of a "meat market"...that could be a plus lol.

Lake Worth: Up and coming, has a decent strip and a very nice pier on the beach. Great rental prices as well. Centrally located.

Downsides: Crime and unreported crime. Certain parts of the city can look a little dumpy. Lots of dispensaries and halfway houses so it attracts that stoner, burnout crowd. MAJOR CON: Doesn't use FPL...has its own separate utilities!

Delray is great we used to live downtown (we just moved to Jupiter for more quiet (we are older now ), but it is very touristy. I would say if you want more of a true local feel with a city'ish vibe with things to do I would say WPB.

Get a place in downtown West Palm. It is perfect for you, and a short commute to PBG.
