I will be staying in Boynton Beach for a very short trip, and am trying to meet up with a relative who lives in Englewood, Fla., which is on the complete opposite coast.

It appears to be an approximate 3 hour drive from Boynton Beach to Englewood, so we thought we could meet at a midway point. Unfortunately, when I look at a map, the midway point is either a town called Clewiston, or Moore Haven. I have never heard of either town, and there does not seem to be any good restaurants to eat at, other than fast food places.

If anyone can suggest a better midway meeting point. Somewhere that would take each of us each about 1 1/2 hours drive time, a safe location, with nice restaurants.....I would appreciate any info.

Thanks in advance.

Going across Florida on US 27 is a terrible trip. Central Florida, does not really have good restaurants. There is usually a Sonny's Bar B Q in most places, but that's about the same level as Olive Garden.

Add about 1/2 hour to the trip and take I-75. At the western end of Alligator Alley, where I-75 turns north, you will find many good restaurants - just outside Naples.

Thank you for the information. I'm starting to think this might not be a great idea.

Clewiston/Moore Haven are farm towns not tourist towns.

Why not meet in Naples? About 1:45 mins for each of you.

Naples is probably the nicest city on the west coast of Florida.
