I am not that familiar with downtown Ft Lauderdale. Just clubbed a couple times. What would you say about how the people differ (relaxed/conservative/etc) and homes or condos for sale, ideally very low hoa. Which is more $? My limited time there seems like Delray is more quaint but all of you say its getting too high and too touristy. If you would choose one over the other may I know why? Thanks kindly.

Boils down to big city or small town IMO. I live in Boynton which is 5-10min to Delray and I use to go to school in downtown Ft Lauderdale. Mind you I have not been back in years, I actually prefer less people than either place has to offer. Delray, especially East Delray / Atlantic Ave is tiny. You can walk the whole thing pretty easily from the start of the ave to the beach. Ft Lauderdale is much larger.
