Once again developers are applying pressure on PBC commission to change zoning to allow more housing etc. in the agriculture reserve west of Delray, Boynton, etc.

WPTV reports that a develper north of Atlantic Avenue wants to build houses , one reason given so emplyeees in the marketplce area will not have to travel 15 miles to work. OMG.. How terrible! Will he build affordable housing ON THIS PARCEL?

I am disgusted by this, and thank Commissioner Mack Bernard and ex Commission Karen Markus for reportedly opposing the move.

1. Approximately 55 % of voters approved the bond issue in November to allow for building as many as 20,000 affordable houses. WILL THIS DEVELOPER BUILD AFFORDBLE HOUSING ON HIS PROPERTY IF IT IS REZONED?

2. The ag reserve was approved by voters a long time ago, and money was spent to establish and protect it. I for one am happy to have it. When I get tired of the traffic and congestion in the east, and when I see what SR 441 is like in Boca and worse in Lauderdale, I head out to Bedner's farm and am thankful that it is there.

3. I resent the fact that our commissioners may be harrassed by greedy developers and POSSIBLY be offered compensation to vote yes. I hope to God this would not happen, but such as happened in other times and places.

4. Landowners in the reserve knew what they had when they acquired the land. They should suck it up and cooperate in keeping at least a part of our area uncrowded and an acknowlegement that there is more to Florida than THOUSANDS OF HOUSES CRAMMED CLOSE TOGETHER MILE AFTER MILE.

I DO NOT CONSIDER THIS A POLITICAL ISSUE. I AM A LONG TIME FLORIDA RESIDENT WHO MISSES THE OLD DAYS OF FLORIDA.. ORCHARDS, BLUE OCEAN, CALM TRAVELING TO LOCAL STORES, STUFF LIKE THAT. I KNOW I CANNOT HAVE THIS, BUT IT IS GETTING TOO MUCH.

Sad to hear. I have clients in Loxahatchee that are nervous about all the new building ruining their quiet life too.

Westlake off Seminole Pratt.

I hadn't been out there in 10 years and went to go look at a car, guy lived by Westlake. I couldn't believe how big/developed it was.

Traffic is going to be a nightmare on Northlake..........really no way out of there except Northlake or Southern.

I was out there early last year and I saw all the bulldozers but didn’t see what was being built. Talk about ruining the character of a place.
