I was just wondering what the job market is like for finance professionals in the WPB / Boca Raton area? Does anyone know any good recruiters in the area? Thanks.

There are good jobs in finance to be found in the area. I work in finance and have not had problems finding good jobs. (In spite of what some of the negative people here might tell you, the wages are decent. Maybe I could make more in NYC but the cost of living is also much higher there.)

A friend of a friend is a finance recruiter with Robert Half in Boca Raton, FL. She said she could find me a job in a second but I already have a good job so no need! At one time, I did speak with a recruiter there. My only issue was he was trying to push down the salary I felt I deserved (and ultimately got more than) but I think he was hoping to place me somewhere fast. I was young, maybe he thought he could convince me I wouldn't find more money elsewhere. If you stand by what you know you are worth you'll find something decent.

Great, thanks for the feedback. Do you mind me asking what area of finance you are in? I have been second guessing the move due to all the talk of significant wage depression; it's good to hear from someone in the business that it's not that bad. Would it be possible to get an introduction to that friend of a friend? So you know a little about me: I am currently an AVP at Bank of America's Chicago CDO Trust division (fun times as you can imagine!), have 7 years of experience in different areas, CFA, CFP and a BS - Finance from Boston College. My wife has a couple job offers in the area and the lure of warm winters has us seriously interested in fleeing Chicago! Thanks again...
