You don't need to spend even a fraction of that amount for a nice home.
YOu do have to love heat...and lots of it....small town amenities, as in no accross the board quality of life. You will have to drive to go to Costco...drive to a great restaurant....drive for good shopping.
If you are used to a good standard of life, and enjoy having things closer to you, you just have to locate near a major metropolitan area.
Forget jobs...they have none.
High taxes will thrill you as well.
Point is that it is a great place to live if you can handle the various downsides.
Did I mention how far it will be to a functional airport?

Are you crazy?

Jupiter is 10 minutes away from the Gardens Mall, which is not only the best mall in the area, but has world class boutiques and shops, many of which are found on Worth Avenue (which is 20 minutes away, and has all the best shopping one could want). Costco is a 10-15 minute drive to Northlake Blvd. The airport is also 20 minutes away, and is the easiest, best airport in and out of in South Florida, and restaurants are bountiful and plentiful on Donald Ross and PGA Blvds. It's also a short drive to downtown West Palm/Cityplace for more shopping, dining, entertainment and restaurants.

Do you have to drive 10-30 minutes to get everything you need or want? in some cases, yes, but Jupiter is a suburb, and that's what you do when you live in a suburb.

Taxes? Again, as Sakirav says, compared to what and where? Kansas?
