OK - Hubby's work is sending him up north (relatively) from Broward...we are looking in Boca and Highland Beach - need to stay East. Please give honest suggestions about family neighborhoods in East Boca - we cannot afford the high-priced waterfront communities and we do not want the "Boca Vista" crowd (we need under 55). Where do you think the best places are for the long-term?

It sounds like West Boca is the place for you... do you absolutely have to stay east?

Smile Camino Gardens

Very friendly oriented. I have a friend who has a 3/2 on a great canal. Please PM me for more info.

You would love the neighborhood.

I live in east Boca (can't do west either!). I'm in an older, family friendly neighborhood called Boca Square. We're east of 95 and about 2-3 miles from the water tops. Nearby neighborhoods that are also nice are Royal Oak Hills and Palm Beach Farms. These are NOT gated communities, but rather, they're 1950/1960's houses. Many have been updated, and there's a lot for sale now. I love Palm Beach Farms b/c there's a park and playground right in the middle of the neighborhood. Good luck.

Boca Square is Very nice and has good schools. I would not do Highland Beach- It doesn't have that community feel as most people there are retired and lots of people only spend half the year there.
